A REST-CURE FOR MAN AND THE ENVIRONMENT: In the core of the Lusatia, a region marred by post-mining sites, EMIS is instrumental in carrying out one of the most significant remediation and land reclamation projects of Europe. Dozens of post-mining residual holes are being flooded and turned into a chain of lakes with a water surface of more than 130 square kilometers by 2020. These lakes have predominantly been earmarked for recreation. In order to use and distribute the scarce water resources in an optimal way, EMIS has been commissioned by LMBV to design, plan and build the “Lusatian flooding center”.
